Big game fishing in Mauritius

Mauritius is renowed for being one of the best fishing destination. Big game fishing is practised throughout the year in Mauritius although the best season for marlin is from October to April. Besides black and blue marlins, anglers also catch.

Tuna: Shoals of Yellow-fin tuna move in to Mauritian waters in March and April.( 140 to 200 lbs)

Wahoo: Prolific runs of Wahoo start in September. Reputed to be the fastest running fish in the sea.

Sailfish: Literally flies through the air when hooked, in an aerial display of fury. (Around 100 lbs)

Bonito: A smaller species of tuna( Skipjack tuna).

Shark: Expect Blue, Hammer-head, Mako, Tiger, Black fin and White fin.
