Catamaran Cruise Ile aux Gabriel Island

Ranked as the most popular sea activity in Mauritius, the catamaran cruise to Ilot Gabriel island allows you to explore Mauritius’s spectacular coastline and admire the seaside splendor of island.Ilot Gabriel, is located near the Round Island and the Flat island, at the extreme north of Mauritius. The size of the island is only 42 hectares. Gabriel island is a protected natural reserve. The island is most famous for if its beautiful unspoiled beaches, with crystal clear water surrounding the entire island.

It is a very popular site for snorkelers, and also offers great dive sites. Ilot Gabriel is a gem thrown on the open sea extending over an area a little more than 42 hectares. It is situated about 20 kilometres from the north coast of the island. It can easily be reached by boat or catamaran either from Grand Bay or Pereybere.  Ilot Gabriel is special in the sense that it is full of lush green vegetation and indigenous fauna and flora. The island offers good opportunities for picnic and camping under canvas with friends and families. Happy and pleasant moments can be spent far from the mad world.

From your departure in Grand bay at Sunset Boulevard Jetty the catamaran start at 09:00 a.m. you will sail across Coin de Mire (Gunner's Coin) and Flat Island to anchor at Gabriel Island, the sailing time is about 1hour 30 minutes depending on the wind force. Upon arrival visitors may decide whether to do snorkelling from the boats or swim to the Gabriel Island to relax on the beach. Snorkelling gears are provided on board. Foods and drinks will be served on board boat will start its return trip at 14:00 to be back in Grand Bay around 16:00.
